Brooke & Tommy, Your trip sounds great. I was in Port Douglas for 4 weeks...years ago. Things I remember that would be good are: Moocha Pies (?)a pie eaten by hand and fresh dailey, a train up the mountain to an agricultural area and market, and a hike thru Daintree rain forest. The day trips out to the reef are not very good. It is a cattle ride and they anchor at the same spot and the reef has been abused. Be sure and check if the jelly fish are in the water. They have people die from their stings every year. Also, watch out for fresh water crocodiles...same thing...people get eaten. It is a beautiful spot and I really enjoyed my stay there. It was very under developed at that time, but I hear it is really built up now. Enjoy, Grampa Ken and Lori. We have two 1 year old yellow labs that are as beautiful as yours. We also have 2 black labs...ll years old. Bye, and have fun.
